Chemical product sketch from COWS

Overall, for Practical 2, I feel that my group did very well, and we were pretty well coordinated when executing the production of our cardboard prototype. We made a vending machine, which was able to dispense another separate piece of cardboard to demonstrate that the prototype worked, and as such, it went as well as we hoped it could have.

I’m really proud of how our group did, considering we didn’t have a sketch of an idea for what we were going to make, considering that we actually did not have any idea what we were going to make prior to entering the lab, and so we came up with an idea on the fly.

There weren’t any real disagreements while we were making our cardboard prototype. However, we did have conflicting ideas when we were first coming up with an idea for what we were going to make. Once we had decided on our idea and work had begun on our prototype, we did not disagree at all, as we were mainly focused on getting our individual parts done in order to put them together to make the final product. We ended up finishing much earlier than we expected, which only goes to show how much can be done if everyone in the group puts aside their differences and contributes their fair share of work.

While we were working on the cardboard prototype, I learnt that cardboard actually has corrugations between the paperboards, which allows for easy folding in one direction of the cardboard, while being difficult to fold the other way.

Overall, I feel that learning how to come up with a simple cardboard prototype of whatever item or idea that we had would come in handy in the future, as we would also need to do a similar process when prototyping our original product. The experience was also really fun, and I feel that I would definitely enjoy the process in the future.
